Baja California Sur

Baja California Sur is the jewel of the Mexican Pacific: a desert peninsula bathed by the Sea of Cortés—which Jacques Cousteau called "the world's aquarium"—to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. This extreme geography creates unique contrasts: giant cacti facing the bluest sea, gray whales that come to give birth in coastal lagoons, and coral reefs full of life.

Los Cabos, where the desert falls into the sea at the rock arch that joins the Pacific with the Sea of Cortés, is one of the world's most recognized luxury destinations. Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo concentrate resorts, acclaimed restaurants, and intense nightlife, while the "Zona Turística" between both cities hosts galleries and boutiques that make it exceptional.

La Paz, the capital, has the rhythm of an authentic Latin American city: a waterfront to stroll at sunset, a seafood market at 7 in the morning, and direct access to Isla Espíritu Santo—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—where sea lions swim alongside divers and humpback whales leap just meters from the boat.

The lagoons of Ojo de Liebre and San Ignacio are the breeding grounds for gray whales: between January and March, the whales approach the boats and allow tourists to touch them, in one of the most extraordinary wildlife experiences on the planet.
