The Mexico City International Jazz Festival is the most important jazz music event in Latin America, featuring 14 days of free and ticketed concerts at Parque Bicentenario, Teatro de la Ciudad, and multiple venues in the historic center. Artists from 20 countries and over 80 annual concerts transform CDMX into the capital of Latin American jazz every June.

History

The festival was born in 1980 as a university event at Auditorio Nacional and grew to become the continental benchmark. It has featured Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, and dozens of Latin American musicians who have brought Mexican fusion jazz to the world. The 2023 edition exceeded 200,000 attendees.
