Baja Expeditions is the oldest and most respected marine ecotourism company in Baja California Sur, operating since 1974. Founded by oceanographer Tim Means, BX pioneered grey whale watching tours in Laguna San Ignacio — one of the few places in the world where whales approach boats and allow themselves to be touched. Its expeditions in the Sea of Cortés include whale shark diving (October-March season), snorkeling with sea lions at Los Islotes, and kayaking among the rock arches of Cabo Pulmo.

Base in La Paz, BCS. Flight to La Paz (1.5 hours from Mexico City). BX provides hotel pickup in downtown La Paz. Departure dock is 20 minutes from the city center.
